Fontanicchio’s Story
The original farmhouse was built in 1886 and was home to families who lived and worked the surrounding land. After 1939, Fontanicchio became a refuge in the truest sense, a place offered by the town to women who had nowhere else to go, where they lived in safety and practiced the delicate art of lacework. Some of that work still hangs in the Museo del Merletto today.
Generations later, the property was bought and lovingly restored, brought back to life as the home it is now. A refuge then, a refuge still. That is the spirit we keep alive for every guest who walks through the door.

At the center of it all is the shared space: indoor and outdoor kitchens, a wood-fired pizza oven, a gas and charcoal barbecue, and long tables made for dinners that run late. It’s where reunions, weddings, retreats, and celebrations belong.
Take the whole villa as a larger group, or book single rooms as a smaller party or solo traveler. Either way, Fontanicchio is a place to gather.

We met in Florida, coming from different countries and different worlds, but aligned on what mattered: family, food, hospitality, and a shared instinct for spontaneity.
After years in the corporate world and businesses built along the way, we felt a pull back to our roots, restoring old properties and chasing a quiet countryside that felt right.
